•Season One Trivia
Here you can find all the Fun facts and Trivia on Season One
1x01 - Pilot

In this episode and in many of the episodes after this, when Booth and Brennan are driving, Booth does not wear his seatbelt - only Brennan does

Dr. Brennan's second sentence to Booth is:
"Don't call me Bones" (which becomes a running theme for the beginning of the series).
Another catch phrase of hers is introduced in this episode: "I don't know what that means." She usually says this when someone makes a popular culture allusion or remark.

When Brennan finally leaves the Jeffersonian to get back home, we see three shots of her: one crossing the Jeffersonian Park and two others in Washington streets. But while she is holding two bags in the first shot, it suddenly disappears and is not in the other two shots

The long shot of the funeral appears to be a composite. It shows the rear of the Lincoln Memorial in the distance, with a row of trees leading up to the cemetery. But the Potomic River is immediately behind the Lincoln Memorial.

In the cast credits at the end they credited actress Naja Hill with playing character Cleo Hill, when the character is in fact called Cleo Eller, the murder victim

1x02 - The Man in the S.U.V.

At 18:35 there are people visible entering the restaurant behind Bones, yet when the shot pulls out a second later onto Booth, Bones, and Angela, the people are gone

At the end of the episode there is a close-up of Bones and her head is resting on her hand, but when the shot changes, her hand is down

During their car ride, at around 35:10, just as Booth finishes his line "Just be careful, alright," the view in the rear window changes and suddenly there is a car close by

After shooting Farid and waiting to get the "all clear," Booth holsters his gun to lean on the railing with both hands. However, in the next shot of him, he is holding the gun as if he had just taken the shot, showing that the reaction shots were shuffled around.

The many car rides done by Booth and Dr. Brennan have very bad continuity. The lighting that is supposed to imitate the sunlight is from the same direction in every car scene

It is somewhat odd that Hamid Masruk was working for the Arab-American Friendship League, since he was Afghani, and therefore not Arab.

1x03 - A Boy In The Tree

Booth: So, uh, what part of "this is mine" did you not understand? What? Do you want me to say it in Latin?
Brennan: Absit invidia.

"Absit invidia" means "no ill will," which in this situation is more or less "no offense". Brennan never actually translated "this is mine" (which would roughly translate to "id meum est") which is what Booth implied he was going to say in Latin. She instead just apologized in Latin for not listening to him

At 24:11 the shadow of a boom-mic is visible on Bones' head

Bones watches a DVD of the victim on a big flat screen television mounted to her wall but at the end of the episode the television is gone from the wall

Booth gets his ID card at the very end of this episode, but in the previous episode, The Man In The SUV, he used one to enter a secure area in the Jeffersonian. This happened because The Man In The SUV was originally supposed to air after A Boy In A Tree

1x04 - The Man in the Bear

In the begining of the episode Dr. Brennan and Booth are in Booth's car, a volvo, and the interior is black leather. A minute later when they arive and step out of the car the car's interior is light beige

In the beginning of the show they refer to the case as coming from eastern Washington state. However the show is obviously supposed to be set in the mountains. While there are mountains in Washington that run through the middle of the state, the eastern part of the state is mostly flat with either farms or dry, barren land.

At 5:36 all the shadows are hard to the left with the sun at the right, but a second later when the shot changes, the light is now coming from the wrong side

Bones puts the broken parts of the arm bone back in line. But when she walks away to set up her laptop the bones are no longer in line

Temperance's book that Charlie is reading is entitled "Bred in the Bone."

During the scene where Brennan and Booth are dancing in the bar, the sheriff is first shown with his badge over his right pocket. In the next shot of the sheriff, the badge is over the left pocket, and his nametag is over the right pocket.

1x05 - A Boy in a Bush

At the beginning of the episode when Booth and Brennan get to Brennan's car, Brennan pushes a button to put the top down, but in the next shot, the top is already down.

When Angela is talking to Hodgins about his anger management technique (the rubber band on his wrist), an extra walks up right behind her and should have passed the two of them, but in the next shot, which is over her shoulder, has suddenly disappeared

At the end of the episode when the gang is getting ready to go to the party Temperance is wearing a silver necklace with a flat angel on it instead of one of her usual chunky ones

Brennan reveals that her grandfather got her out of foster care, but if her parents were in hiding from the FBI, how did her grandfather find her under her new alias?

It is revealed that Hodgins is rich and his family is the largest donor to the Jeffersonian

It is revealed that Booth has a brother named Jared

1x06 - The Man in the Wall

Brennan: Angela said rap artists sometimes kill each other over the music: Jam Master Jay, Tupac, Biggie.

Brennan is mentioning the names of Americans singers who were murdered in gang-related shootings. Jam Master Jay was a hip hop singer shot on October 30, 2002 in New York. Tupac was a rapper shot in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas who died a few days later on September 13, 1996. Biggie (The Notorious B.I.G.) was a rapper and hip hop singer killed in a drive-by shooting on March 9, 1997 in Los Angeles. Despite what Angela said, there is no proof that any of these men died as a result of music-related issues

At 38:25 a clip of Bones is an obvious insert; film quality is poor compared to the rest of the scene

At 2:03, when a lady is arguing with Bones, her lips visibly say the word "bitch," but this utterance was dubbed over with "fool."

This episode marks the end of Booth's relationship with Tessa

The black cane with a silver wolf's head handle that was a key piece of evidence in identifying the killer was the same cane used by the sometimes vampire Barnabas Collins in the gothic soap Dark Shadows

In this episode Brennan and Angela discover the grave of a man in a wall. In the fifth episode of Angel, also starring David Boreanaz, the body of a young man who was murdered by his mother was also discovered in a wall

1x07 - A Man on Death Row

The number, thought to be a telephone number, 240-251-0221 is said to belong to an old woman living in a nursing home. The 251 exchange in the 240 area code is located in Mount Airy, Maryland. Mount Airy is just west of Baltimore on Interstate 70. The number is currently assigned to a land line; therefore, it could not belong to a woman living in a nursing home.

When Booth is interviewing David Ross at the FBI building you can see that his gun is still in his holster. This is a violation of procedure - a weapon would never be allowed in an interview with a man suspected of killing someone

1x08 - The Girl in the Fridge

In the scene where Brennan is talking to Goodman she has a pen in her hand and when Goodman sits down she puts the pen down. The camera then goes to Goodman, and when it comes back to Brennan you can see that she has the pen in her hand again, as if she had never put it down

At around 32:21 on the DVD, after the statement "Sorry, I don't do this professionally," the shot goes to the jury. As it pans from the lady to the man there is a black format bar on the left of the shot, but as the camera moves the bar goes away

During the interview with the parents of the dead girl, Brennan asks for photographs of the victim dancing or swimming. The mother looks through the album and hands Brennan a number of photos, but they are all head shots

The nameplate on Dr. Barragan’s desk reads Dr. Nicholas Skinner, M.D

1x09 - The Man in the Fallout Shelter

The raised area that the team works from has to be accessed by a card system to avoid setting off alarms. Yet when Booth comes in to mention the body and Bones agrees to look at it, he whistles to the FBI guys who have the body bag and they manage to get it up to them without having the card access.

It is revealed that Booth has a four-year-old son named Parker

During their breakfast, Angela brings up Brennan's past and Booth reacts as if he didn't know anything about it. However, in a "Pilot" scene, after Booth told them that science can't solve mysteries, he had a conversation with Angela in which she told him that he should know about her family and he replied that he "read the file." Plus, in the previous episode "The Girl in the Fridge" Booth persuaded the prosecution counsel to use Brennan's personal information in order to show the jury that she has a reason for doing what she does the way she does it.

When Hodgins is talking to Brennan on the walkway he accuses her of being the Grinch and goes on to say that it isn't fair for the rest of the team either because "Goodman doesn't get to see his family, Zack can't see his kids, and Booth won't see his son." The dialogue should have been "Zack doesn't get to see his family, Goodman can't see his kids, and Booth won't see his son."

It is revealed that Angela's father is Billy Gibbons, member of the legendary band, ZZ Top

1x10 - The Woman at the Airport

At 41:33 the officers take the hooker away, but at 41:39 when the shot goes close on Booth, she is leaning toward him on the right.

The victim, named 'Rachel' throughout the episode, had at least four fake different names: Sandra Cane, Rachel Achaunce, Candace Hayden, and Susan Sheppard. However, near the end, Brennan and Booth discover she was actually named Allison Holmes
